Last Saturday, October 23, 2021, the activity “Erráticas transhumantes” (Transhumance drift / dérive) took place, within the line Erráticas expandidas de Solar – Cultural Action. Erráticas expandidas is a line of research of considerable longevity within the practice of Solar – Acción Cultural and is interested in the fact of walking, of walking as a practice of creation, expanded and stretched towards fluid limits. It is a way of approaching the space of experience and of exercising freedom in the journey. Sergio Acosta’s proposal, Erráticas Trashumantes, delves into the notion of mobility in the territory and will be developed in the form of a journey through different environments.
Acosta himself describes Erráticas Trashumantes as follows:
A symbolic approach to the idea of transhumance, mobility and territory.
Our current environment, in the XXI century, is configured as the result of a process of continuous changes according to the uses and customs of each time. From ancient times until today, our landscape has been configured subordinated to the historical transformations of each era. Landscapes in transit in continuous transformation in which we live immersed without being aware of their evolution. Metropolitan peripheries, colloquial and everyday environments in which we can practice a sort of landscape archeology with which we can understand the past, rethink the present and dream the future.
About Sergio Acosta (1970):
Aware of the value of art and photography as an introspective instrument of self-knowledge and understanding of the world around us, he uses these tools as a counterpoint to his work as an engineer.
His artistic project addresses on numerous occasions his perception of society in relation to nature and how it relates to it, anthropized landscapes, and how the human footprint shapes the territory. On other occasions his series take the opposite direction, revealing how the environment marks and conditions the human and social. In all his work, absences, voids and uncertainty act as the backbone of the eternal and delicate relationship between man and his environment.
